I’ve built my career on supporting others in understanding how to leverage search engine optimization as a simple way to grow traffic and website visitors that drive sales without the pressure of constant social media posts.
In fact, it’s common practice for any coaching business to rely heavily on marketing strategies that center on social media as the main place to create content, build brand awareness, and find new coaching clients.
But after spending the first 5+ years building a profitable business as a personal brand, running the typical high ticket group coaching program with a marketing strategy that was 100% dependent on me showing up 24/7 just to sell my coaching services, I hit a wall.
Ironically, it’s the same wall so many of my coaching clients and students seem to find themselves in after only a few short years of running their coaching businesses through social media.
Can you guess what that is?
I’ve shared this phenomenon in extensive depth in my blog post, “The Attention Merchant Business Model” which you can enjoy here.
To summarize, it’s the feeling that regardless of your coaching niche, if you’re a life coach, marketing coach, or even an executive coach or consultant, you find yourself resenting the very business you’ve built because of the marketing strategy you’ve been taught that forces you to constantly create content that has no real lifespan to it.
I don’t need to convince you that social media doesn’t work, because it does. The real question is whether or not that’s the kind of work you want to be doing to find potential clients and grow your coaching business.
For me, the answer was a clear no.
The first time I heard anything about technical SEO, researching keywords, and link building, I felt my eyes glaze over and my brain go fuzzy. I spent years mastering how to talk to ideal clients through creative copy and storytelling that made seo content feel so dry and uninspiring.
But the more I dug into SEO coaching and understood how related keywords helped me to get found by my target audience online (instead of trying to target clients on social media), the more confident I felt about becoming an SEO writer and using my coaching website as the centerpiece of my marketing strategy in my coaching business
Ironically, it’s this unique amalgamation of experiences and skills that’s allowed me to understand the SEO world and SEO for coaches in a way most other SEO specialists simply can’t.
After much trial and error, I’ve learned how to maximize on page SEO with any website page, sales pages, or blog post to drive site visitors straight from Google search engine results pages and into our coaching business.
What we (my business partner, Mel Judson, and I) have developed and continue to optimize and refine, is an SEO strategy that allows coaching clients and anyone with a coaching business to become social media optional.
I don’t believe that business should be about growing as big as possible as fast as possible, but rather, building a business that delivers amazing results for your ideal clients and organically grows in brand awareness so you, the optimal choice in your industry, land on the first page of and search results page every single time.
So you can be found by potential clients actively seeking you out, simply by knowing how to leverage specific keywords and your own website’s technical SEO to grow your coaching business without the pressure.
Coffee and Keywords is my flagship digital product, software, and SEO course made for coaches and other online business owners who want to learn how to leverage Google, YouTube, and other search engines to attract more potential coaching clients online.
Curious about my trauma practitioner background? Here’s a snippet of my training and qualifications to help you feel more clear about my background.
I entered the personal development space early on through the Tony Robbins Global Youth Leadership Summit and spent 4+ years volunteering and attending all the events.
I graduated from Mira Costa College in 2015 with 4 associate degrees in the fields of Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Communications, and Applied Behavior Psychology where I then transferred to California State University San Marcos majoring in Applied Psychology.
During this same time, I continued my education in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Spiral Dynamics, and general coaching through the Strategic Brain Institute.
In 2018, I decided to step down from my undergrad program and pursue coaching full-time, getting certified as a Breathwork Facilitator through PAUSE and beginning my training as an Equity Centered Leader through the Institute of Equity Centered Coaching in 2020.
2020 was a big year where I decided to pivot out of the traditional coaching model and began my Trauma Informed Practitioner training, doubling up on Certifications through the Trauma & Somatics 35-hour Certification while also beginning my 3-year Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Training through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute.
I’ve spent the last 3+ years completing over 500 hours of education, supervision, and consultation as an SEP as well as completing my training in Neuro Affective Touch for Early Developmental Trauma.

I have been, and will always be a rave and festival fanatic. I go hard for the dirty wubs, but I also love deep house, funky beats, and melodic trance. My favorite artists include Illenium, Seven Lions, Elderbrook, Kaskade, Adventure Club, and Emmit Fenn.
If you catch me at a festival, you best believe I’ll be rocking an oversized fur coat that makes my 5’1” self look extra huggable.
I am first generation Mexican-American on my mom’s side and have had quite the experience growing up as a biracial woman in Southern California.
I became a mama bear after quite an intense birthing experience with my son, Cash, in 2020. You can read all about the birth experience here. Trigger warning: Emergency C-sections, Loss of pets, etc.
I competed in Bikini Competitions in my early 20s until I developed a binge eating disorder and body dysmorphia that invited me to take a deeper look at my relationship with food, fitness, and body positivity.
Today, I am still learning to love and embrace my tiger stripes from pregnancy while also feeling fabulous, taking up more space. Most days, it’s a win, but I prefer to be honest about my constant process with body image.
To keep this page from being longer than my target receipt, I have an entire page dedicated to my personal values and antiracist business practices that you can explore by clicking below.
